Beyma 10BR60/V2: 10" wideband driver with 92 dB, 100 W AES and bass down to 30 Hz
The Beyma 10BR60/V2 is a 10" driver from the BR series that Beyma lists as a wideband loudspeaker. The 30 Hz to 5,000 Hz transmission range shows what that means: not a full-range driver up into the treble, but a driver that covers bass and the entire midrange in one piece. With 92 dB sensitivity, 100 W AES power handling and 8 Ω impedance it is laid out for small-scale PA use just as much as for home designs with a tweeter.
The parameters speak clearly. A resonance frequency of 29 Hz is low for a 10" driver, and Qts 0.39 with Vas 142 l fit a motor with BL 14.8 Tm and a 2" voice coil. Qms of 7.5 points to low mechanical losses in surround and spider. Xmax of 6.2 mm delivers excursion in the bass. At 2.9 kg and 158 mm mounting depth the 10BR60/V2 is no lightweight, but no brick either.
Use and enclosure
An EBP of 72 allows both enclosure types. As a guideline for bass reflex you get roughly 143 l tuned to 28 Hz with a lower cut-off of 28 Hz as well; that is a large box, but one that actually delivers the specified 30 Hz. Sealed with a Butterworth alignment the guideline is about 62 l with a corner frequency of 53 Hz, considerably more compact and tighter in transient behaviour. Both figures are approximations from the Thiele-Small parameters; the precise design is done with the enclosure calculator at 42.audio.
Above 5,000 Hz the 10BR60/V2 needs help. A tweeter or a small compression driver with horn from the Beyma range makes sense to take over in the upper midrange; place the crossover below the 5,000 Hz limit so the 10" cone does not run into its beaming region. Le of 0.85 mH against Re 5.9 Ω means the impedance rises with frequency, which a passive crossover handles with a compensation network.
What to look out for
- 8 Ω and 92 dB: runs from any PA or hi-fi amplifier, power handling 100 W AES.
- Mounting depth 158 mm and 2.9 kg: plan cabinet depth and baffle thickness accordingly.
- Xmax 6.2 mm at Fs 29 Hz: real bass excursion, not a pure midrange.
- Le 0.85 mH: impedance rise in the midrange, plan compensation in passive crossovers.
- 2" voice coil: thermal headroom for continuous bass duty.
Frequently asked questions
Which enclosure suits the Beyma 10BR60/V2?
As a guideline about 143 l bass reflex tuned to 28 Hz, or around 62 l sealed with a corner frequency near 53 Hz. The reflex box goes deeper, the sealed one is more compact and tighter. Run the alignment through the enclosure calculator before you build.
Can I run the 10BR60/V2 without a tweeter?
For speech or background use, yes, but the range ends at 5,000 Hz. For music with full treble, add a tweeter or a small horn loudspeaker from the Beyma range and cross below that point.
Which amplifier fits the 10BR60/V2?
With 92 dB and 8 Ω the 10BR60/V2 is undemanding. An amplifier in the region of the 100 W AES rating is enough for full drive; clean clipping behaviour matters more than raw power, because an overdriven amplifier stresses the 2" voice coil thermally more than short peaks do.
At 42.audio you get the BEYMA 10BR60/V2 with all key data in the driver database and the enclosure calculator. More drivers from this manufacturer: Atlas Beyma.

Enclosure suggestion
The EBP of 72 is in the intermediate range — either works; sealed plays tighter, bass reflex deeper and louder. EBP = fs / Qes = 29 / 0.4
Sealed (Qtc 0.707)
- Enclosure volume Vb
- 62.1 l
- System resonance Fc
- 53 Hz
- Cut-off frequency F3
- 53 Hz
Bass reflex (QB3 after Small)
- Enclosure volume Vb
- 127.0 l
- Tuning frequency Fb
- 30 Hz
- Cut-off frequency F3
- 30 Hz
Vb is the required net internal volume, Fb the tuning frequency of the reflex port and F3 the frequency at which the level has dropped by 3 dB. Calculated approximation after Small. A starting point for simulation, not a finished build plan.
