Beyma 15MCS500: 15" midrange with 500 W AES, 98 dB and Qts 0.48
The Beyma 15MCS500 is a 15" midrange driver from the MCS series with a 2.5" voice coil, 500 W AES power handling and 98 dB sensitivity. It covers 50 to 4,000 Hz and is therefore a typical candidate for the lower-mid and midband in PA tops, stage monitors and guitar or bass cabinets where a single 15" driver has to cover a wide range.
With Fs 46 Hz, Qts 0.48 and Vas 134 l the EBP of 92 lands in the region where sealed and bass-reflex enclosures both work. The high Qms of 7.8 stands for a low-loss suspension, and the motor with a BL of 17.6 Tm moves 98 g Mms over an 8 mm Xmax; the displacement volume of 704 cm³ is generous for a midrange driver.
Use and enclosure
If you want lower mids reaching into the bass, the bass-reflex guide value is about 245 l tuned to 37 Hz with an f3 around 33 Hz, which is a big box. Both have a 2.5" voice coil, 500 W AES, 98 dB and 8 mm Xmax. With Qts 0.48 and Qes 0.5 the 15MCS500 is tuned slightly softer and has the lower EBP of 92; it therefore copes a little better with sealed boxes but needs more volume in bass-reflex.
Is the 15MCS500 suitable for a bass guitar cabinet?
For a bass combo that should deliver plenty of lower mids and attack, 8 mm Xmax, 500 W AES and 98 dB fit well. Deep bass below 50 Hz is not among its tasks; in a sealed or moderately tuned cabinet it delivers a tight, assertive tone.
