BEYMA 6G40Nd: 6" guitar speaker with neodymium motor, 94 dB and 170 W AES
The BEYMA 6G40Nd covers the 6" format in Beyma's G series and targets compact combos, pedalboard amps and multi-driver builds where weight and depth matter. The neodymium magnet keeps the driver at 1.6 kg; a ferrite system of equal strength would be considerably heavier. Despite its size the motor carries a 2" voice coil, which explains the 170 W AES rating.
Tonally it sits between small full-range units and the classic eight to twelve inch guitar speakers: the 90 to 8,000 Hz range starts low enough for the guitar's fundamentals and reaches higher than typical 12" guitar speakers, without going so far that distorted tones turn harsh. 94 dB sensitivity is a good figure for six inches and makes it loud enough for rehearsal rooms and small stages with modest amplifiers.
Use and enclosure
The parameters (Fs 85 Hz, Qts 0.33, Vas 7 l) yield these guide values: vented about 4.4 l tuned around 97 Hz with f3 near 104 Hz, sealed about 1.9 l with fc around 182 Hz. With an EBP of 236 it is clearly a candidate for vented, open-back or horn-loaded designs; small sealed boxes cost you extension. In a guitar combo the back panel decides the character anyway.
As a low-mid driver in a small PA or monitor box, cross over to a tweeter well below 8,000 Hz and protect it at the bottom with a high-pass filter, since 3 mm Xmax leaves little bass headroom.
