Beyma CD-10Nd/N: 1" neodymium driver with 1.75" coil, 8.9 Tm and 70 W AES
The Beyma CD-10Nd/N combines a 1" horn throat with a 1.75" voice coil and a neodymium motor that reaches 8.9 Tm. Power handling 70 W AES, nominal impedance 8 Ω, frequency range 700 to 19,000 Hz: these are the key figures of an HF driver for two-way PA cabinets that are meant to reproduce music, not just speech.
The higher force factor compared with the ferrite version CD-10Fe/N is the real difference between the two: more force on the coil with the same diaphragm means higher efficiency and tighter control around resonance. Weight is 1.2 kg and mounting depth 66.4 mm; so the neodymium driver is not shallower than its ferrite counterpart, it uses the format for a stronger motor. The 700 Hz resonance allows crossover points that suit 12" woofers.
Use and enclosure
In a two-way cabinet with a 12" woofer the CD-10Nd/N takes over above the crossover on a 1" horn. Suitable Beyma horns are listed in the Horns & Waveguides category; documented 1" horns from other brands are the 18Sound XT1086 Alu, XR1064 Alu, XT120 and Celestion H1SC-8050. For stage monitors a horn with wide coverage is appropriate, for front-of-house boxes with throw a narrower model. Make sure the horn mouth is large enough to load the diaphragm around the crossover frequency.
Set the crossover at least an octave above 700 Hz; the filter should not be shallower than 12 dB/octave, and 24 dB/octave is standard in active systems. 70 W AES applies to filtered noise, not to full-range signals. In a passive design you need an L-pad, because a compression driver on a horn is considerably louder than the woofer; with DSP you add level, delay alignment to the woofer and a limiter. Use the high force factor to run the driver with headroom rather than at its limit.

If you want the stronger motor at 8.9 Tm and the lower weight of 1.2 kg, yes. Power handling, impedance, coil and frequency range are identical; the ferrite driver is cheaper and perfectly adequate for fixed installations.
How low can I cross over the CD-10Nd/N?
Resonance is at 700 Hz. In practice you stay at least an octave above that and filter steeply; how low you can actually go also depends on the horn, which must load the diaphragm in the crossover region.
