Beyma CD-2514Nd/PK: lightweight 1.4" neodymium driver at 1.8 kg with 80 W AES
1.8 kg: that is the weight the neodymium motor brings the Beyma CD-2514Nd/PK down to, roughly half of what the ferrite-equipped CD-2514Fe/PK weighs. Add a 54.7 mm mounting depth, shallower than the ferrite model, and a motor with a BL of 8.5 Tm. The rest stays the same: 1.4" exit, 2.5" voice coil, 80 W AES at 8 Ω, working range 600 Hz to 20,000 Hz.
Neodymium reaches the same flux density in the gap with a fraction of the magnet volume, which is why weight and depth shrink; the higher BL shows that Beyma did not merely downsize the motor but made it somewhat stronger as well. Use and enclosure
The CD-2514Nd/PK is made for cabinets that get carried: touring tops, mobile PA, stage monitors, anything where every kilogram shows on stage or in the van. Set the crossover well above the 600 Hz lower limit, and make it steep. Neodymium is not a licence for more power: the 80 W AES applies exactly as it does to the ferrite sibling, and neodymium magnets lose flux when they get very hot, which is another reason a limiter in the HF branch makes sense. The short 54.7 mm mounting depth helps with shallow cabinets and wedge monitors.

No, both are rated at 80 W AES. The neodymium driver has the stronger motor at BL 8.5 Tm and is lighter and shallower at 1.8 kg and 54.7 mm. If the cabinet moves, the Nd pays off; in a fixed installation the Fe does the job just as well.
