Beyma CD-314Fe/Ti: 1.4" compression driver with 3" titanium diaphragm and 90 W AES
A 3" voice coil behind a 1.4" exit: that is the configuration with which the Beyma CD-314Fe/Ti brings more diaphragm area and more thermal mass into the mid-high range than the 2.5" models of the CD series. Beyma rates it at 90 W AES at 8 Ω, and the working range starts at 600 Hz and extends to 20,000 Hz. The ferrite motor delivers a BL of 9.5 Tm; the titanium diaphragm is built for continuous operation at high levels.
The size comes at a price in mass and depth: 5.4 kg and 69.6 mm mounting depth are considerably more than the smaller CD-2514Fe/Ti. In return you get a driver that works with more reserve in the transition region to the woofer and that may be loaded more generously at 90 W AES. Use and enclosure
The CD-314Fe/Ti is a driver for fixed installations and large two-way cabinets where the HF section should start low and work hard: club PA, cinema sound, sports venues. On a 1.4" horn it takes over from well above 600 Hz; a large horn with a low loading frequency makes the best use of the 3" voice coil. At 5.4 kg, the driver must be firmly bolted to the horn and the horn to the baffle; flown cabinets need proper construction here. Cross with a steep high-pass, in fixed installations preferably via DSP with a limiter. The titanium treble can be adapted to the room with a gentle dip in the presence region.

- 3" voice coil with 90 W AES: more thermal reserve than the 2.5" models in the series.
