Beyma CP-385Nd: lightweight 1" neodymium compression driver, 70 W AES up to 20,000 Hz
If you are looking for a 1" driver that balances power handling against weight, the CP-385Nd is an obvious candidate. Beyma uses a neodymium magnet here, so the whole driver including its 1.75" voice coil weighs just 1.3 kg. Power handling is 70 W AES at 8 Ω, and the frequency range runs from 800 Hz to 20,000 Hz.
The CP series is Beyma's line for professional high-frequency duty, and within it the CP-385Nd covers the class of 1" drivers with a 1.75" voice coil. That combination is well proven in PA design: the coil is large enough to shed heat over a decent area, while the diaphragm stays small enough for clean reproduction up to the top of the audible range. How low can I cross the CP-385Nd?
