Shallow, robust, straightforward: the Beyma SMC-280/N is a 1" compression driver with a 1.75" voice coil that handles 50 W AES at 8 Ω while being only 53 mm deep. The 1.3 kg weight tells you a classic ferrite magnet is at work here, delivering a BL of 8.5 Tm. The frequency range runs from 800 Hz to 18,000 Hz.

Use and enclosure
The SMC-280/N fits any 1" horn with a compatible bolt pattern. An 8 Ω amplifier channel in the 50 W AES class is enough; with a passive crossover a series capacitor ahead of the high-pass is cheap insurance, in active systems a limiter takes over that job.

Is the 18,000 Hz upper limit enough?
For PA, monitoring and installation without question. In practice the top octave is shaped by horn, equalisation and room anyway; no audible restrictions are to be expected there.
