Celestion AN2075: 2" full-range driver with neodymium and integrated waveguide for tight arrays
The Celestion AN2075 is a 2" full-range driver from the AN series: neodymium magnet, rigid aluminium cone, half-roll elastomer surround and a square chassis moulded from glass-reinforced ABS. The square outline is the point – it lets you pack many drivers so closely that almost no frame remains between the cones. That is what the unit was made for: columns, line sources and small arrays where the sum of the cones creates both the level and the directivity.
Within its category the AN2075 stands out for the waveguide integrated in front of the cone. It keeps the high-frequency dispersion wider than a bare 2" cone could manage; the response spans 160 to 19,000 Hz. Add the weatherproof construction and you have a driver fit for outdoor sound and damp locations. With 80 dB sensitivity at 8 Ω, 20 W AES and a 40 W continuous rating it is no soloist, though – its value lies in numbers.
Use and enclosure
The Thiele-Small parameters leave little room for debate: Fs 153.4 Hz, Qts 0.839, Vas 1.51 l and an EBP around 154. A Qts this high means the driver develops a pronounced hump around resonance in any enclosure and delivers nothing below it. A bass reflex box gains you nothing here despite the EBP figure, because the specified range only starts at 160 Hz anyway. In practice: a small sealed compartment, ideally one shared chamber for several drivers, and a woofer or subwoofer underneath. Set the crossover well above 160 Hz; the enclosure calculator at 42.audio handles the exact alignment.
With 2.25 mm Xmax and a 0.75" voice coil, linear excursion is limited. A high-pass filter keeps low-frequency content away from the driver, which it could not reproduce anyway, and raises the usable power handling at the same time. When wiring an array, the 8 Ω per driver lets you combine series and parallel groups into a total impedance your amplifier drives comfortably.

Frequently asked questions
Can the AN2075 run on its own as a full-range driver in a small box?
Technically yes, from 160 Hz upwards. With 80 dB and 20 W AES the level stays modest, though. It makes more sense as a mid-high unit above a woofer or in multiple arrangements where the cones add up.
Which enclosure suits the AN2075?
A small sealed compartment. The Vas of 1.51 l shows how little volume the driver needs; the in-box resonance ends up above the free-air resonance of 153.4 Hz anyway. Bass reflex is not worthwhile with this Qts.
How does the AN2075 differ from the next size up in the AN series?
The next size up in the series has more cone area and higher sensitivity. The AN2075 is more compact and allows tighter driver spacing, which keeps the vertical dispersion of a column more even towards the top.
