The Celestion CDX14-3045 is the neodymium version of the 3" titanium driver from the CDX series. It weighs 2 kg, a fraction of the ferrite CDX14-3035, and at 59 mm is also shallower. That makes it the driver for touring boxes and any design that wants a 1.4" throat with high power handling while the cabinet stays portable.
The one-piece titanium diaphragm with integral surround, the revised surround shape for better linearity and the clamp ring of high-temperature polymer are carried over from the ferrite model. The 3" voice coil of edgewound copper-clad aluminium wire delivers 120 W AES and 240 W continuous. Sensitivity is 108 dB at 8 Ω, frequency range 500 to 20,000 Hz.
Use and enclosure
With 800 Hz as the recommended minimum crossover at 12 dB/octave, the CDX14-3045 suits two-way boxes with 12" or larger woofers and mid-high duty in three-way systems. For low crossovers near 800 Hz, work actively with steep filters; a passive second-order network needs more margin because diaphragm excursion rises quickly below the crossover.

What do I gain over the CDX14-3035?
