Celestion K12H-100TC: 12" full-range driver with dual cone, 97 dB and 50–10,000 Hz
A 12" driver that plays up to 10,000 Hz without a tweeter – that is the idea behind the Celestion K12H-100TC. A second, smaller cone sits in front of the main Kevlar-reinforced paper cone and takes care of the treble, while the large 531 cm² area delivers bass from 50 Hz. Pressed steel basket, ferrite magnet and a cloth-sealed surround keep the construction robust.
With 97 dB sensitivity at 8 Ω and 100 W AES (200 W continuous), the K12H-100TC is aimed at applications where a single driver per box has to cover the whole range: speech and music reinforcement, columns, paging systems, retro full-range cabinets or a DIY full-range project. The 1.75" voice coil with round copper wire on a polyimide former is a strengthened design, which benefits clarity in the midband.
Use and enclosure
For bass reflex, the guide value is a volume of 77 l tuned to 53 Hz with a lower cutoff f3 of 52 Hz. Sealed with a Butterworth alignment it is 34 l at 99 Hz in-box resonance – more compact, but without real bass. Qts 0.399 and the EBP of 118 show that the driver belongs in a reflex box; the Vas of 72.04 l fits that order of magnitude. The enclosure calculator at 42.audio lets you run both variants.
A crossover is not mandatory: the dual cone carries the response up to 10,000 Hz. If you want more air on top, add a tweeter with its crossover above the whizzer's working range. Mind the 3 mm Xmax – deep bass at high level is not its game, and a high-pass below the tuning frequency protects against over-excursion.

Do I need a crossover?
No, as a full-range driver it runs straight off the amplifier. Only when you add a tweeter do you need a high-pass for the tweeter; a low-pass for the K12H-100TC is optional thanks to the whizzer.
What is the difference to the K12H-200TC?
The K12H-200TC has a 2" voice coil, handles 200 W AES and offers more excursion, but its resonance sits higher. The K12H-100TC has the lower free-air resonance of 55.6 Hz and is the choice when extension matters more than level.
