Celestion TF1525: 15" woofer with 98 dB for large vented and sealed enclosures
The Celestion TF1525 is the 15" woofer of the TF series with a 2.5" round-wire copper voice coil, Kevlar-reinforced paper cone, cloth-sealed surround and pressed steel chassis. It is specified as a bass/mid driver from 40 to 3000 Hz, with 250 W AES and 500 W programme power and a sensitivity of 98 dB.
The parameters stand out: Qts 0.493 is high for a PA fifteen, Vas is large at 148.41 l, Fs 47.6 Hz. The EBP of 84 lands in the zone where sealed and vented boxes both work. In practice that means the TF1525 likes volume. The motor with BL 14.57 Tm is not tuned for compact boxes; instead, the light cone at 77.9 g delivers the high efficiency. Use and enclosure
The classic approximations give a vented guideline of about 292 l tuned to 38 Hz with f3 around 33 Hz – a large cabinet that makes use of the driver's extension. Suitable roles: woofer in a large two-way box with a horn, bass section in a three-way system, or the low-frequency part of an instrument cabinet where efficiency matters more than maximum excursion. Cross over well below 3000 Hz. A high-pass below the tuning protects the 4.5 mm Xmax.

Well below the 292 l guideline you get a bass hump and less extension. A sealed box around 140 l is the simpler solution when space is tight; the result is an fc around 68 Hz.
TF1525 or TF1525e – which fits better?
The TF1525e has more excursion, a stronger motor and higher power handling; the TF1525 has the higher efficiency and the lower bottom limit. For efficiency and large enclosures the TF1525 is the right choice.
Which amplifier for the TF1525?
