Celestion TSQ2460: 24" neodymium woofer with 6" voice coil and 2500 W AES
The Celestion TSQ2460 is a 24" low-frequency driver from the TSQ series, built for subwoofers where a single unit is expected to deliver the displacement of several smaller woofers. The frame is cast aluminium, the motor a neodymium system driving a 6" voice coil wound with round copper wire on a glass-fibre former. Power handling is 2500 W AES (5000 W programme), sensitivity 98 dB, nominal impedance 4 Ω, and the working range runs from 20 to 200 Hz. The cone is glass-fibre reinforced cellulose with a weatherproof coating on both sides, hung in a fabric-sealed triple-roll surround.

Use and enclosure
With an EBP of 87, the TSQ2460 works in both vented and sealed enclosures. As a guideline from the Thiele-Small parameters: vented, around 168 l tuned to 33 Hz, giving a calculated f3 near 37 Hz. Sealed, the Butterworth approximation lands at roughly 78 l with fc at 63 Hz – for a driver with a 27 Hz resonance that is more a starting point for DSP equalisation than a finished subwoofer. The usable range ends at 200 Hz; a crossover well below that keeps the 717.2 g cone out of the transition band. For the cabinet, plan for a 571 mm cutout, 280 mm mounting depth and 22 kg – the baffle has to carry that mass on the road.
