Beyma 3FR30V2: 3" full-range driver with 90.5 dB for satellites, soundbars and midrange
Small, efficient and with a range from 135 Hz to 20,000 Hz: the Beyma 3FR30V2 from the FR series is a 3" full-range driver that delivers the complete midrange and treble from one cone. At 90.5 dB sensitivity it sits high for its size, and power handling is 30 W AES. The voice coil measures 0.8", which suits the small format and keeps moving mass low.
The 133 Hz resonance frequency and the Qts of 0.51 make the 3FR30V2 good-natured: it can be run in very small sealed volumes without the alignment becoming critical. Vas of 0.57 l is tiny, so the enclosure may be correspondingly small. It is not built for bass, but for everything that happens above a subwoofer or woofer, and with the coherence that only a single source without a crossover in the midrange can offer.
Use and enclosure
The classic application is the satellite system: several small cabinets with the 3FR30V2 and a subwoofer taking over below. As a guideline for a sealed enclosure with Butterworth alignment you get about 0.6 l with a corner frequency of 184 Hz.
