Beyma 6CX200Fe: 6" coaxial driver with 94 dB, 200 W AES and ferrite magnet
A 6" coaxial with 94 dB sensitivity is a practical basis for compact boxes that still need to play loud. The Beyma 6CX200Fe from the CX series combines a low-frequency cone with a 1" voice coil and ferrite magnet with a central HF unit that completes the response from 60 Hz to 20,000 Hz. 200 W AES at 8 Ω provides ample power handling for continuous use.
The Thiele-Small parameters reveal a strong motor: BL 9.2 Tm against Mms 14 g gives a Qts of 0.32 at Fs 65 Hz and Vas 10.54 l. That is the alignment of an efficient midrange that still delivers usable extension in a vented box. Xmax 5 mm is enough for satellite duty; the cone stays controlled because the electrical damping is high. At 3.6 kg the driver is heavier than the neodymium version, as is typical for ferrite, which is irrelevant for installations.
Use and enclosure
With an EBP of 191, bass reflex is the obvious choice. As a guideline the parameters give about 6 l tuned to 76 Hz, with a lower cutoff around 83 Hz. That is the size of a small satellite or monitor box covering everything above a subwoofer. For use as a mid-high unit in a three-way system, take a sealed midrange chamber of around 2.7 l with a corner frequency of 144 Hz and cross over to the woofer below. The exact design with port is done in the enclosure calculator on 42.audio.
Suitable projects are installation speakers for hospitality and conference rooms, nearfield monitors, home cinema centres and surrounds, and compact active two-way systems where the single cutout simplifies cabinet construction. Crossover and transition between cone and HF unit are your own design; the parameters are in the driver database.
What to look out for
- 94 dB at 8 Ω: high efficiency, small amplifiers already deliver decent SPL.
- Qts 0.32, EBP 191: bass reflex or sealed midrange chamber, not a subwoofer candidate.
- 3.6 kg with ferrite magnet: plan bracket and baffle accordingly.
- Re 4.9 Ω, Le 0.3 mH: low inductance, easy crossover calculation.
- Xmax 5 mm with Sd 135 cm²: use a high-pass when high output is required.
Frequently asked questions
How does the 6CX200Fe differ from the neodymium version 6CX200Nd/N?
The Nd/N has a neodymium magnet and is lighter; the 6CX200Fe relies on ferrite, is louder at 94 dB sensitivity and is rated slightly deeper with a 60 Hz lower limit. For stationary applications the Fe is the pragmatic choice.
How small can the enclosure be?
The guideline is about 6 l bass reflex tuned to 76 Hz. Smaller is possible with a higher tuning, at the cost of extension; as a pure midrange, around 2.7 l sealed is enough. The enclosure calculator shows you the trade-off.
What amplifier power makes sense?
Thanks to 94 dB you get far with a few watts; the 200 W AES rating is the thermal ceiling. An amplifier with clean clipping behaviour and a high-pass below the operating range matter more than high power.
Beyma 6CX200Fe: manufacturer, spellings and classification

Enclosure suggestion
The EBP of 191 suggests a bass-reflex enclosure. EBP = fs / Qes = 65 / 0.34
Sealed (Qtc 0.707)
- Enclosure volume Vb
