Beyma CD-1114Fe: 1.4" compression driver with 1.75" coil for large horns
The Beyma CD-1114Fe is a special case within the CD series: it carries the motor of the 1" models with a 1.75" voice coil, 70 W AES and 6.6 Tm, but ends in a 1.4" horn throat. The frequency range is 700 to 19,000 Hz and nominal impedance 8 Ω. The ferrite motor brings the driver to 1.9 kg at 58 mm mounting depth.
Why a 1.4" throat on a driver of this size? The larger connection allows horns with a bigger throat cross-section, designed for 1.4" drivers, to be used without an adapter. That is practical when an existing 1.4" horn is to be reused, or when a product series with different driver sizes shares the same horns. Electrically the CD-1114Fe matches the 1" model CD-11Fe, so the choice between the two is made by the horn, not by the driver.
