Beyma CD-151Fe/PT: shallow 1" ferrite driver with 1.5" coil for 2-way tops
The Beyma CD-151Fe/PT packs into 44.4 mm of mounting depth what usually needs more room: a ferrite motor with 6 Tm, a 1.5" voice coil and 70 W AES power handling. A 1" horn throat, 8 Ω nominal impedance and a frequency range of 900 to 20,000 Hz complete the picture. The driver weighs 1.3 kg.
The /PT code is Beyma's designation for the diaphragm variant; the sister version CD-151Fe/PK shares all other data. Within the CD series the CD-151 fills the gap between the small 1.1" tweeters and the large drivers with a lower limit further down. The 900 Hz resonance is low enough for two-way designs with a 10" or 12" woofer, and the 1.5" diaphragm is light enough to play up to 20,000 Hz without restriction. For stage monitors, small front systems and installations with limited cabinet depth that is a well-balanced combination.
Use and enclosure
As a 1" driver the CD-151Fe/PT fits Beyma horns from the Horns & Waveguides category and documented 1" horns such as the 18Sound XT120, XT1086 Alu, XG10 Alu or Celestion H1-9040P. The driver's tight depth can be turned into a very compact HF module with an equally flat waveguide; if you want stronger loading around the crossover, pick a horn with a larger mouth.
The crossover sits at least an octave above 900 Hz, with a minimum of 12 dB/octave, in active operation 24 dB/octave plus limiter. The 70 W AES rating applies to band-limited noise in filtered operation; a shallow high-pass or a full-range signal is the real risk for any compression driver, not amplifier power. In a passive crossover an L-pad belongs in the HF branch so that the driver on its horn does not play much louder than the woofer; a series capacitor adds protection.

Is the CD-151Fe/PT suitable for stage monitors?
Yes, the combination of 44.4 mm depth, 70 W AES and a 1" throat fits well into flat monitor cabinets with a 10" or 12" woofer. Choose a wide-coverage horn and cross over clearly above 900 Hz with a steep filter.
CD-151Fe/PT or CD-11Fe?
The CD-11Fe has a larger coil and starts lower, but is heavier and deeper. The CD-151Fe/PT starts at 900 Hz, reaches 20,000 Hz and is much shallower at 44.4 mm. For large systems with a low crossover take the CD-11Fe, for 10" and 12" systems the CD-151Fe/PT.
Is there a difference from the CD-151Fe/PK?
Only the diaphragm version indicated by the /PT or /PK suffix. Coil, motor, power handling, impedance, frequency range, weight and mounting depth are the same, and you treat both identically in crossover and horn selection.
